Canada’s leading insurance publication reboots with a bold new look and editorial brief

TORONTO, October 10, 2018 / insPRESS / – The Canadian Underwriter Magazine was relaunched today with the publication of its October 2018 issue and introduces an energetic look, a functional design and an editorial assignment, which is expressed through its new slogan “Your Guide to Insurance Success”.

Now in its 85th year of existence, the Canadian underwriter has been redesigned to meet the demands of today’s insurance professionals who crave more knowledge to help them but have less time to acquire it. The new Canadian underwriter is expected to provide greater numbers of practical insights and to make those insights more accessible.

“Whether you’re a broker, underwriter, risk manager or claims professional, we want Canadian Underwriter to give you more great ideas per minute than any other source,” said David Gambrill, editor-in-chief of the magazine. “In terms of this, in my opinion the new CU is hard to beat – but it’s also a lot more fun to read.”

Advertisers will also benefit from the changes in several ways. “Of course, we will be targeting our readers more deeply by using best editorial practices,” said Ian Portsmouth, Managing Director / Editor of Canadian Underwriter. “More important is who the new Canadian underwriter will connect with. The increased editorial focus on innovation and improvement will attract more people who embrace and drive change instead of settling for the status quo. It is the most lucrative target group that advertisers can reach. “

The October 2018 relaunch edition contains the results of the second annual National Broker Survey and presents the following departments and regular articles:

  • “Explanations” the magazine begins with helpful analyzes of new trends, current topics and current news. Their goal: to improve insurance professionals’ understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by today’s dynamic insurance environment.
  • the “CU interview” is an in-depth chat with the biggest names in the insurance industry today (or tomorrow), revealing the wisdom they have gathered from the past, their visions for the future and their plans to shake up the market now.
  • “Manual” Here, readers not only learn what to do to be more successful, but also how to do it. This guide is provided by subject matter experts in the industry and the Canadian Underwriter’s own editorial team, comprised of Canada’s most experienced insurance journalists.
  • On the back of every issue “How I did it” tells the success stories of Canadian insurance leaders in their own words, focusing on the strategies that test them at key points in their careers.

The new Canadian underwriter will continue to provide valuable information and inspiration through his full-length stories and special editorial packages, such as his annual Broker Growth Guide, Future of Claims and Future of Risk reports and the upcoming CEO Outlook survey from Insurance Leader . Subscribers can also look forward to CU’s annual Specialist Guide (aka National Insurance Marketer) and its 86th Annual Stats Guide, both due out in mid-2019.
