Flapper and Skyportz Select Electra Low Carbon Electric Aircraft for Aviation Services in Latin America and Australia |
FALLS CHURCH, Virginia., October 4, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Electra.aero, Inc. (“Electra”), a next-generation clean aviation technology company, has total purchase commitments for 180 of its hybrid-electric ultra-short take-off and landing aircraft (eSTOL) totaling more than $ 500 million in value. The agreements are part of collaborative agreements with air service providers and infrastructure developers in several countries, and reflect global demand for low-carbon transportation as countries strive to meet CO2 reduction targets.
Electra offers 2.5 times the payload and 10 times the range at 70% lower operating costs than VTOL alternatives
Electra has signed agreements with Flapper, the largest on-demand platform for private aviation in Latin America, and with Skyportz, Australia pioneering developer for advanced air mobility infrastructure. Electra previously announced an agreement with the world’s leading vertical flight operator, the Bristow Group. Taken together, the three partnerships give Electra an insight into the design, operation, ground support and marketing of its innovative aircraft.
With less fuel consumption and fewer emissions per passenger than a car, Electra’s hybrid electric aircraft supports global emissions reduction goals. The fixed-wing aircraft will initially carry up to seven passengers and a pilot or 1,800 pounds of cargo in all weather conditions up to 500 miles. Its ability to take off and land at just 30 meters, with in-flight battery charging, enables flight operations from locations previously inaccessible to the flight, including city rooftops and company parking lots. Electra’s technology offers 2.5 times the payload and 10 times the range at 70% lower operating costs than VTOL alternatives, proving that climate-friendly technology can also be cost-effective.
“These strategic agreements go beyond the technological development and manufacture of the aircraft,” said John S. Langford, Founder and CEO of Electra.aero. “They record the entire ecosystem required for successful operations, ground support and customer use, which together confirm the commercial viability and market confidence in our eSTOL aircraft.” The global urban and regional advanced air mobility market served by Electra is served by Morgan Stanley at. forecast $ 1 trillion.
