German police raids in connection with money laundering, criminal gangs

BERLIN (dpa) – Special police units searched around 30 buildings in connection with money laundering and organized crime in North Rhine-Westphalia on Tuesday.

Investigators searched apartments, offices and shops in Duisburg, Leverkusen, Gelsenkirchen and other cities in the Rhineland and the Ruhr area, reported the German news agency dpa.

They confiscated property and executed arrest warrants, reported the dpa without any further information. The investigators wanted to announce more details about the raids later in the day.
