CISI’s 2021 Financial Planning Conference, one of the UK’s largest financial planning events on the calendar, will return this year as a live in-person event and will be one of the first in-person financial events to be announced in 2021.
With conditional government plans to lift most pandemic restrictions after Jan.
Last year the planned conference was canceled and replaced by a virtual, two-day event.
CISI says that if the pandemic situation approaches in October, it has contingency plans to hold a virtual event instead.
Meanwhile, the Certified Financial Planner trade association is planning this year’s event, which will take place in the home of Red Bull Racing’s Formula 1 cars in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, in full swing.
Sally Plant, CISI Head of Financial Planning, said: “With the UK government’s plan to ease Covid restrictions and the much-needed safety through vaccination, we are optimistic for a face-to-face conference in the spectacular home of Red Bull Races.
“However, recent events have taught us to be prepared for any eventuality. As we work hard to create a safe and exciting face-to-face conference, we continue to monitor the pandemic and await government guidance. If necessary, we are ready to move the conference online at short notice. “
The event offers 20 expert speakers and 7 hours of training over 2 days. It begins on October 5th with the opportunity for delegates to explore the Red Bull Racing Factory. There will also be a bespoke masterclass that will focus on the winning teams’ working strategies and demonstrate how the Red Bull Formula 1 racing team is successful.
After the masterclass on October 5th, delegates will be able to network with other financial planning experts and hear about startups and charities active in the financial services sector.
The pre-conference dinner will be a networking opportunity during the planned interactive entertainment when the 2021 Financial Planning Award winners are announced.
On the second day, October 6th, the conference will include plenary sessions and technical flows. The streams focus on technical content related to companies, customers, and financial planning. The full program will be published shortly.
Ms. Plant said, “This will be my very first CISI financial planning conference and I am very excited to meet our Fantastic Planner community and work with my colleagues to bring the established conference to a fresh twist during this two-day experience.”
