The inspection will close the Clark Bridge tracks news

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lanes will be closed on US 67 Clark Bridge in Alton.

The road closures are required for the bridge inspection. If the weather permits, the lane closures will take place on weekdays from Monday, June 22nd to Thursday, July 2nd, as follows:

  • From June 22nd to 23rd, the right lane to the south will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • From June 24th to 26th, the right lane to the north is closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • From June 29th to 30th, the right lane to the south is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • From July 1st to 2nd, the right lane to the north will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Drivers can expect delays and should allow additional time to travel through this area. Alternative routes should be considered whenever possible to avoid the work area. Drivers are requested to carefully observe the changed conditions and signs in the work areas, adhere to the specified speed limits, not use mobile devices and pay attention to workers and equipment.

    IDOT also announced the temporary closure of the lane on Illinois 160 between Trestle Road and US 40, beginning Monday June 22, weather permitting. This work is required for the placement of a new asphalt surface and is expected to be completed by mid-July 2020.

    When driving through the work zone, there may be delays for the driver. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, be aware of changing conditions, follow signs, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and driving through the work area.
